NEVER BEFRIEND YOUR BOSS ON FACEBOOK. WHY?

WELL... Recently an email has been sent around my office which discloses an email conversation between Line manager and worker-bee regarding his sick day. The email, seen below, states that the worker-bee (‘Kyle Doyle’) has been asked by his Line Manager to provide a medical certificate because he doesn’t believe his reason for leave of absence was genuine. PROOF? Well his line manager ‘print-screened’ Kyle’s Facebook update status on the morning of his absence quoting “is not going to work, fuck it i’m still trashed. SICKIE WOO!, and then email it to him as proof. To which Kyle responds with a torrent of amusement (or bemusement) and claiming it to be an epic fail..

BUT IS THIS YOUR NORMAL EMAIL?

Personally, I think it’s a marketing Viral. The email address of the line manager doesn’t exist (or has been changed) and the webs address takes you to the company’s sit with the slogan “Tell it like it is”. Coincidence or an absolutely perfectly engineered integrated marketing campaign? Either way, I love it. This is brilliant and I have had it sent to me by three different people within 24 hours. WELL DONE AAPT.

Just check them out, they deserve the PR.

 Hi Niresh,
My leave was due to medical reasons, so you cannot deny leave based on a line manager’s discretion, with no proof, please process leave as requested.
Thanks

Regards,

Kyle Doyle

 Hi Kyle,
Usually that is the case, as per your contract. However please note that leave during these occasions is only granted for genuine medical reasons. You line manager has determined that your leave was not due to medical reasons and as such we cannot grant leave on this occasion.

 Niresh,
1 day leave absences do not require a medical certificate as stated in my contract, provided I have stated that I am on leave for medical reasons.

Thanks

Regards,

Kyle Doyle
